Unlikely Journeys

Meeting You Where You're At

Who We Help

We provide support for youth aged 12 to 17 in Hendricks County, Indiana who may be experiencing mental health concerns, substance use, or justice-related issues. We offer FREE weekly support groups for youth, parents and guardians. Additionally, we visit incarcerated youth on a monthly basis to provide similar support within the facility.

Unlikely Journeys is a Danville-based non-profit that provides FREE spaces where youth can meet in a group setting and/or one-on-one to discuss issues related to drug use, mental health and the justice system.

We offer the same type of support and assistance for parents/guardians as it pertains to youth, FREE of charge.

Our mission is to collaborate with youth to navigate a transformational journey from substance use and/or mental health concerns to a place of inner peace.

Our vision is to create a safe space where youth can be their authentic self, and are empowered to make healthy choices that lead to interpersonal growth.

How We Help

We offer a Youth Support Group and Parent/Guardian Support Group facilitated by a Peer Recovery Coach, in Hendricks County. We also offer one-on-one sessions with a coach. As we grow we will add in youth groups across the county and surrounding areas. Each group is designed to be a safe space to share, learn and empower one another through their journey. Topics are tailored to the needs of the group.

Parents serve as primary influences in their children's lives, and modeling healthy behaviors is important for their well-being. When parents prioritize healthy habits like communication, exercise, and other coping skills that help manage stress in healthy ways they demonstrate the importance of self-care.
It is important that your children or teens observe you starting and incorporating healthy habits so that they internalize the habits. These habits are laying a foundation that is setting up wellness throughout their life.
